Avelia Villarreal Flores, 87, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida.
She was born on May 25, 1938, in Mathis, Texas, to Crispin and Maria Elena Villarreal. On February 2, 1957, Avelia married the love of her life, Ysidoro Alaniz Flores Jr., and together they built a loving home and raised a family rooted in faith and compassion.
Avelia worked for the State of Texas as a Home Health Aide for many years, a role that reflected her caring and selfless nature. In her retirement, she spent her time sewing, crocheting, reading her Bible, and attending church—activities that brought her great joy and peace. She especially enjoyed watching Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural and Daniel Adams on YouTube, drawing inspiration and strength from their messages.
Avelia was preceded in death by her husband, Ysidoro Alaniz Flores Jr.; her parents, Crispin and Maria Elena Villarreal; her sister, Dominga V. Gonzalez; and her brother, Eudelio Villarreal.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Corina Kostreba (Largo, Florida), Daniel Flores (Aubrey, Texas), Ysidoro Flores III (Dickinson, Texas), Felix Flores (Dickinson, Texas), David Flores (Dickinson, Texas), and Maria Elena Gagnon (Lockhart, Texas). She also leaves behind grandchildren: Alma Tuia (Lockhart, Texas), Corina Andariese (Minot, North Dakota), Isaac Flores (Dickinson, Texas), David R. Flores Jr. (Dickinson, Texas), and Daisy Flores (Pasadena, Texas), as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Avelia’s life was a testament to faith, family, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Avelia will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 17, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Paradise Cemetery South, 2237 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Templo De Avivamiento Pentecostes, 1620 Edwards St, Houston, TX 77007.
