1933 – 2015
Barbara Gene Munnerlyn Davis, age 81, passed away on May 20, 2015. Barbara was
born on October 20, 1933 in Monroe, Louisiana but raised in Houston, Texas where she
graduated from Reagan High School.
Barbara was most known for her beautiful singing voice and performed with the Houston
Grand Opera and Theatre Under The Stars. She was employed as an Executive
Secretary with Esso Exploration. Though she retired early, she continued to work, most
recently as a parttime receptionist at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Humble,
Texas.
As an only child, Barbara is preceded in death by her parents John Thomas and Lula
Head Munnerlyn.
Barbara was a loving mother and is survived by her three children, Debbie Davis Dvorak,
John Mark Davis, and Donna Davis Watkins and husband Joey Watkins. She is also
survived by her four grandchildren, Russell Watkins, Kristin Dvorak, Ryan Watkins, Justin
Dvorak, and her great granddaughter Janae Salathiel.
Barbara will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at Memorial Oaks Cemetary. She
will be greatly missed!
