Barbara Jean Williams

peacefully on September 30, 2025, after surviving breast cancer, strokes, and a long battle with dementia.

Born on October 29, 1936, in LaGrange, Georgia to James & Barnell Jones. She was raised most of her life by mother & stepfather, David Stone. She married Johnny Lawrence Williams on April 16, 1955. They were married 38 years before he preceded her in death in 1994. She worked 20 plus years as a grocery clerk for Weingarten’s and later as a shipping clerk for Texas Bolt. Their marriage produced four children, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was the heart of the family.

She loved cooking, celebrating the holidays and birthdays with the family, tending to her vegetable garden, working her puzzle books, and watching wrestling and baseball on TV. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by her parents David and Barnell Stone and her sister Martha Lewis.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Edward Williams, (wife Connie), Steve Jerome Williams (wife Pat), Wanda Lynn Williams (husband Milton Helfrich), and John Anthony Williams (wife Gina), and their grandchildren and spouses, Sandra Paulk (husband Jason), Wesley Williams (wife Miranda), Pamela Johnson (husband Jeremy), Nicholas Williams (wife Haley), Tracy Williams, Jaci Maciel, Shane Helfrich (wife Erin), Paige Williams (fiancé Thomas Oswald), Hanna Williams, and Brett Williams. Great Grandchildren, Crystal, Delila, Jerome, Mason, Ethan, Camden, Hunter, Addison, Cash, Paisleigh, Madden, Spencer, Caroline, and Blaize. She is also survived by her sister Elizabeth Cole.
