Bartholomew Saint John Heaney was a gifted musician. He was a native Houstonian, growing up in the Houston Heights. He attended Christ the King Catholic School, St. Thomas High School (Class of ’82), and the University of St. Thomas. He played guitar professionally in the Houston area for the last 31 years in numerous bands, including his own original rock band Innisfree. He was also a noted guitar teacher in the greater Houston area, and will leave behind a legacy of students. He married Nicole, the love of his life, in November of 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole Ancelet Heaney, and his mother, Dianne G. Heaney, his brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many friends, musicians, and fans, who were touched by his disarming, affable manner and loving, gentle heart. As his uncle noted, we gather to observe this profound loss of someone we all loved, valued, treasured; a good, pure soul who never had to be taught or prompted to love.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to his wife via PayPal to the Bart Saint John Heaney Fund
or directly to Nicole Ancelet Heaney and mailed in care of Blaise J. Heaney, Attorney at Law, P.O. Box 70173, Houston TX 77270-0173.
