Bartley Eugene Tomlinson III

Bartley “Bart” Eugene Tomlinson, III, 60, of Montgomery, Alabama, peacefully passed away on February 12, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bart is survived by his mother, Shelby Lowrey Jones, of Houston, Texas, father, Bartley Eugene “Gene” Tomlinson, Jr., of Franklin, Alabama, sister, Nancy Jones Bush (William), brother, Randolph Lowrey Jones (Cristina), nephews, William Boyd Bush, IV (Ellen) and Samuel Graves Bush, nieces, Juliette Avery Jones and Scarlett Grace Jones, and a host of loving relatives and friends. Bart was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Graves Lowrey of Burnt Corn, Alabama, and Mr. and Mrs. Bartley Eugene Tomlinson of Monroeville, Alabama.

Bart graduated from The University of Alabama and pursued a legal career, graduating from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama in 1994. Over the last 10 years, he worked as an attorney and lobbyist for the law firm of Kimberly H. Adams, PC. He was loved and respected by many fellow lobbyists at the Alabama State House as well as the judges, district attorneys and other attorneys in Montgomery.

Bart attended St. John’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed exercising and playing tennis with his friends. He was an avid fan of the arts, playing guitar and enjoying a wide variety of music and film. He had a special love for animals, particularly Kitty and Birdie.

His family expresses their sincere gratitude to his close friends in Montgomery who gave him constant love and support.
