

Beatriz Contreras Macuba, "Mom" to all who knew her, Born in Beeville Texas on August 28th 1945 to Jose and Lucila Contreras, was called home by our Heavenly Father on August 29th 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Contreras and her brothers Frankie, Joe Henry, & Fernando. She is survived by her mother Lucila Cantu Contreras, her husband of 44 years Robert "Uncle Bob" Macuba whom she loved deeply, her son Jim and wife Laura and their children Brittany, Olivia, & Cole. Son Robert and wife Angela and their son Sean, and son Joey and wife Lisa and their children baby Joey, Kyle, Mickinze, and Alyssa. Brothers and sisters; Jesse and wife Maggie, Rudy and wife Sheryl, Ida and husband Johnnie Padilla, Odelia and husband David Candelaria , Roel, Oralia and husband Darryl Fischer, Benito and wife Sandra, Rene and wife Rachel, Minerva and husband Henry Valdez, and Rafael and wife Teresa and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and their children who all loved her and called her mom or Aunt Bea.
After growing up in Beeville and graduating from A.C. Jones High School, she joined the United States Army and served in the medical corp. at Fort Rucker Alabama where she met her husband whom she cherished for the rest of her life. "Bea & Bob" moved to Chicago where they were blessed with three sons. Later, relocating to Channelview ,Texas she taught special education students at Channelview High School for 20 years and retired in 2005. She and her family were members of St Andrew Catholic Church in Channelview for over 30 years where she was a Catholic Daughters of America and a CCE teacher. She spent her last six years being a grandma, helping everybody she could and spending time with family. She was surrounded by her family when she made Heaven a sweeter place while listening to Elvis sing "How Great Thou Art" -one of her favorites.
