Betty is survived by her husband Emil Tyrone Luttring, sister Connie Sue Whitaker and husband Bubba Guidry, as well as many nieces and nephews who are each special in so many ways.
Betty is preceded in death by sister Margaret Florence Whitaker Moore, brother Oscar Eugene Whitaker (Whit) (survived by his wife Jean Whitaker), sister Marilyn Whitaker, brother Ronald (Ronny) Edward Whitaker (survived by his wife Martha Whitaker).
Betty graduated from Warren High School in 1952 and moved to LaPorte, Texas shortly afterwards. She was fortunate to meet Dr. Worden and Mary Lou McDonald and became a live in babysitter for their two children Sharon and Michael. She lived with the McDonald’s for fifteen years and became a lifelong friend of all of them until she died.
Betty had several office jobs before going to work at Gulf Oil. She retired from Gulf Oil in 1985. After retirement, she worked for a small business as an office manager for several years.
Betty was a member of Trinity Church and served many years (freely) as the Financial Officer. She attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church after moving to Katy, Texas.
Betty met her Beau, Tyrone (Ty) Luttring, and after a short engagement, they were married. Ty has been the consummate spouse to Betty as he cared for her during her illness.
The family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the medical personnel that attended to our beloved Betty. God bless you.
A funeral service for Betty will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, followed by a committal service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
