Betty Marie McDade, born on August 13, 1937, in Louisiana, peacefully passed away on January 13, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Ross McDade, Jr. and Maybelle McDade.
Betty's journey led her to graduate from Wharton High School in Wharton, TX. Her passion for the arts took her to a prestigious art school in California, where she honed her extensive creative skills as a talented painter. Betty's preferred mediums were watercolors and oils, and she generously shared her creations with close friends and family.
Beyond her artistic talents, Betty was an avid gardener, baker, and home chef. Her love for cultivating beauty extended from her paintings to her garden and kitchen. She was a caring and devoted daughter, having served as a caregiver to her parents for many years. In her mother's final years, Betty provided comfort and companionship in the warmth of her own home.
Betty had a deep appreciation for history and ancestry, dedicating time to researching the family genealogy. Her passion manifested in several manuscripts detailing the rich history of her family. She was an eclectic soul with a love for all forms of art, theater, and literature. Betty's vibrant personality drew her close to good friends and family, creating cherished memories that will be forever held in their hearts.
She is survived by her dear brothers Tom McDade and his wife Dorothy, and Bill McDade and his wife Sharon, along with their children, grand-children and great grand-children. Betty also leaves behind the children, grand-children, and great grand-children of her oldest brother, Ross McDade III, who preceded her in death.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Accredited Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Betty. There will be a graveside inurnment for the family.
Betty passed away from complications of prolonged dementia. Her legacy lives on through the memories she created and the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace.
