Billy Owen Fore was born on May 14, 1937, in Houston, Texas. He passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2025, after several weeks in hospice care. Billy was the third of four children of George R. Fore and Dorothy M. Fore.
Billy joined the U. S. Army and served in peacetime after the Korean War and before the Vietnam conflict. He was very proud of his military service and his country. He was very patriotic and loved flying the American flag.
He married the love of his life, Davelene Fore, on November 19, 1960, and they were married for almost 64 years prior to her death in May 2024. He loved his “Precious” so much and missed her terribly after she passed away. He always said she was his “Living, Breathing, Walking, Talking Doll”. He cared for her so faithfully during her dementia illness.
He loved his two children and their spouses, Bron (daughter in law, Donna) and Pam (son in law, David Wooddell). But most of all he LOVED his grandchildren, Austin Wooddell (Maggie Wooddell), Logan Wooddell, Cole Fore, and Cameron Fore. He was also blessed with his first great grandson, Jackson Wooddell.
Billy worked very hard to provide a living for his family, sometimes working several jobs to make ends meet. He worked for the Houston Chronicle and briefly operated an exterminating company. He retired after working for the City of Houston for many years in the Parks and Recreation department.
He loved all his wonderful friends and family and never met a stranger. He quietly influenced many people through his kindness and friendship.
Billy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Davie, his parents, his younger brother, John Fore, and his grandson, Cameron Fore.
He is survived by his children (and their spouses) and grandchildren, his brother Robert Fore and sister Betty Griffin.
The family would also like to recognize Billy’s special caregivers, Deana Alsup, Terri Warner, and Marisol Rangel, for their help after Davie passed away and while he was in hospice care. Billy’s family will be forever grateful for their love and care for Billy.
