Billy Ray Jamison, Sr., 79 gave up his long battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2010. He passed peacefully at home with his family close by. Married 57 years, he raised 4 children in the Heights. He was a Korean War veteran and treasured the friendship of his Army buddies. Following service to his country, he worked 38 years for Halliburton Logging Services, retiring in 1991.
Family was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed the time he spent with them at their beach house in Sargent, Tx. He enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with family and friends. He found great joy in helping people and in fixing broken things. His favorite sport was baseball. He played the game, coached little league and enjoyed the Astros.
He is survived by his wife Flora, children Patricia, Connie, Bonny, Bill, his granddaughter Dayna, husband Tony, and great-grandchildren Alexander, Tony (B.T.), Lucas, Antonio, Marc, Carmen, and Felix. He is also survived by sisters Francis, Olene, Iris Mae (Terry), and brother Tommy.
