I am honored to have been Birdie Ezernack's daughter-in-law.  Over the last 35 years, she shared many things with me:  her wisdom, home remedies (many that worked such as peanut butter and honey before early morning football practice), stories about her childhood, marriage and ancestors, her love for all things Elvis, sharing her home with many family and friends and a good pan of biscuits (which I never mastered making).  However, the most important treasure she shared was her son.  Some mothers can't trust another woman with their son (especially her baby).  Ms. E always treated me like a member of the family, another daughter and that never changed.  She knew what it was like to go through hard times and struggle, yet she accepted that it was part of life.  She loved Zach and Dalton and enjoyed sharing her stories with them and watching them grow from babies, with heads full of hair, to young men making their way in the world.  She always said, you've got good boys and followed it up with, and I raised good boys too!.  Though life without you is not something we wanted, I'm grateful you'll be reunited with so many who were waiting for you.  Almost every time I visited you, you'd say, I guess we're never going to give each other up. And we didn't..we still haven't.   I will carry you in my heart and still hear the many words of wisdom you passed along.  Thank you for sharing your son, your family and the many memories made together.  Now, go have that chat with Elvis and remind him about the time he sat on your lap!

My "second mama" was very special to me. She treated me like one of her own. Her kids especially Don will always be my brother. I love all of you and my prayers are with you all

Cousin Beta will be well remembered as a person always willing to share her thoughts. Had to admire the honesty of my oldest first cousin. My condolences from the Martinez side of the family.


Aunt Beta always reminded us that she is the "oldest and the prettiest" of her Cordova brothers and sisters. I can't think of her without hearing her say her favorite catch phrase! Speak her name and she continues to live thru us. That is how we keep them alive as we say goodbye to each of them. Jim and Julie taught their children to take care of and look after each other, and they have lived what they were taught. I now say goodbye to my plain spoken, spunky Aunt Beta, you were indeed 'one in a million.' So proud to call you my Aunt.

Words will never be enough to describe what all this awesome woman has meant to the Cordova/Martinez families. As the matriarch of such a big family, she has touched so many lives. What a blessing she has been to so many. As a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt etc, I can only pray to one day be half the woman she is. I will truly miss her along with my whole family, prayers for peace to her children, losing a parent is not easy but her love for family will remain and dwell in us. when I first met Suzanne in 1997 we hit it off immediately. Her close knit family was just like mind and we were instant best friends! One day she ask if I wanted to go to her parents for a visit. When I met Birdie and Walter they were both sweet  and both had quite the personality!  I know Birdie made a great loving impact on her family and her quick humor will be missed by all. I am so sorry for your loss.

Aunt Beta was and is my inspiration along with my mother her sister Honey Byrd  for what a strong loving woman is  She loved me through a lot in my life  her life was a blessing for us her spirit lives is us. We love you    Donnis & Bill

Grandma E. I will miss you so much and love you always. The kids are missing you as well but I know that they have you to watch over them. I hope everyone that has been waiting on you was there with open arms. Until I see you again love granddaughter Shanon Ezernack Henry
