

Overseer Bonnie Sue Mims was born on April 27, 1953 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Sonnie and Katie Maxwell. As a young child her family moved to Houston, Texas in 1961. As a young woman, she gave her life to Christ following the birth of her first daughter at CTAC (Christ Temple Apostolic Church) under the leadership of the late District Elder A.J. Patterson.
In 1976, she married the late Pastor Marvin Ray Mims, Sr. with four children born to their union. Together they started New Hope Worship Center where they served for many years. She inherited the ministry under the moniker New Birth Assemblies. Proceeding many years of exceptional service at NBA, she returned to her home church CTAC Ministries under the leadership of Pastor David Allen Jr.
She loved the Lord. She never missed an opportunity to live life to the fullest and went out of her way to make everyone feel special. She is a matriarchal pillar; loving, kind, strong caring and full of wisdom. She will be deeply missed.
Bonnie Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Sonnie and Katie Maxwell; brother, Sonnie Maxwell, Jr.; sisters, Alice Maxwell and Mary Tatum.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sisters, Helen, Beatrice, Elizabeth (Joseph) and Maxine, along with two brothers, James (Patricia) and Samuel; children; Felicia (Phillip), Marvin Jr. (Katrina), Tracy, Kenneth and Tomika (Steven); grandsons, Je’Marcus (Ciera), Tre’Vonne, Aaron, Dominick, Devon, Jaylon, Steven Jr., Samuel, Marvin III and Xavier; granddaughters, Tiana (Dustin), Megan, Kiana, Mia, Taylor, Tamia, Tiara, and Kenzie; great grandson, Tobias; great granddaughter, I’Laina And innumerable neices, and nephews and cousins.
