She was raised in Chiefland, FL where she met and married Kenneth “Butch” Ulmer. Butch and Bonnie traveled throughout the states while he served in the United States Army and eventually settled in Houston, TX where they raised their three sons, Ken, Eric and Chris. They were married for 47 years before Butch’s passing in 2011.
Bonnie was an extremely supportive mother to her sons and helped with Ken’s business ventures until she retired in 2023. Her pride and joy was her grandson Austin. If you ever chatted with Bonnie, you were bound to hear about Austin’s latest adventures and accomplishments. Throughout the years she babysat many children some of whom she was still very close to. All of the children and even some adults called her Grammy. She loved being a grandmother to all.
Bonnie was a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking and was well known for the desserts that she brought to every function.
Bonnie was a faithful member of the church and attended weekly services at Cyfair Church of Christ. She attended in person until her health began to fail at which point she learned how to stream the services on her living room TV. She was quite proud of this accomplishment as technology was often a challenge for her. Her faith got her through the tragedies of losing her sons Eric and Chris. The love she had for Ken and Austin gave her the strength to trust in God’s plan for her life.
Bonnie passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 78. She is survived by her son Ken W Ulmer, grandson Austin Ulmer, and brother Gary Sache along with his wife Deborah. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Barney and Irva Sache, husband Kenneth “Butch” Ulmer, and her sons Eric and Christopher Ulmer.
Bonnie leaves behind countless treasured memories shared with family and many friends. Her presence in the lives of those who loved her will be sorely missed.
