

Broderick Ellis Humphrey affectionately known as “Hump” was born on May 6, 1990, to Rodrick and Shirley Humphrey. He was the cherished eldest child in a family that would later include his two younger brothers, Brandon and Brice Humphrey. From an early age, Broderick demonstrated a passion for sports and leadership talent. He attended Clear Brook High School and was a highly acclaimed and recognized athlete. Broderick graduated from Clear Brook High School in 2008 with an athletic scholarship. He ventured to New Mexico to further his education and athletic career at New Mexico Highlands University.
Despite the distance, Broderick’s heart stayed connected to his family and hometown. Following his time in New Mexico, he returned to Houston, where he embarked on a promising career at Linde Gas where he recently celebrated his 10th anniversary with the company. Renowned for his dedication and strong work ethic, Broderick made a significant impact in his field and was consistently recognized for his hard work, commitment, relationships with colleagues, and contributions to the community.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Broderick was a devoted father to his daughter, Hayden Elise Humphrey. His love for her was evident in every aspect of his life, and he took great pride in watching her grow and succeed. He cherished every moment spent with her, instilling in her a love for family and education. You could always find Broderick on the sidelines, cheering for his daughter as she participated in her extracurricular activities.
On the beautiful day of May 18, 2024, Broderick knelt before family and friends with a heart full of dreams, love, and devotion as he proposed to his beloved Jazmine Clemmons. Bound by their commitment to one another, they began a journey of uniting as one. Though this commitment has been cut short, Jazmine’s commitment to Broderick lasted until he departed his Earthly home.
Broderick’s legacy is one of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. Those who knew him will deeply miss his presence, and his memory will be cherished forever. Broderick Ellis Humphrey’s life, though too short, was filled with love, laughter, and accomplishments.
Preceded in his death were his paternal grandparents, John and Brenda Humphrey; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Stoneham; and his special aunt, Mary Colquitt. He leaves a legacy that will continue inspiring and uplifting all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Rodrick and Shirley Humphrey; his daughter, Hayden Elise Humphrey; his fiancé, Jazmine Clemmons; and his two brothers, Brandon and Brice Humphrey. Additionally, he is remembered by his maternal grandmother, Mildred Harmond and her husband, Harvie Jr.; his uncles, Walter Warren (Rossalyn), Mark Scott, Corey Scott, and Vincent Humphrey Sr.; his aunts, Marilyn Fontenot, Anesha Belton and Trennie Henry; his niece and nephew, Kyla Peterson and Ezekiel Humphrey; and his cousins, Marco Scott (Lynette), Montra Scott (Sabrina), Canray Warren, Alberta Warren Vincent Humphrey Jr., and Kailyn Scott, along with a host of other family members and relatives.
