Bryan Taylor Kelting, age 31, of Houston, Texas sadly left us on Monday, March 06, 2023.
He first blessed our lives on February 26, 1992. Bryan was born to play basketball. Before he could conduct a coherent conversation, Bryan was dribbling a basketball. At 4 years old, tucked on the side of the bleachers, Bryan captured the audience at his older brother’s high school games. He could dribble between his legs and behind his back like a baby Globetrotter. When his older brother, Dylan, joined the Texas A&M basketball team, the team invited Blake and Bryan to be honorary members. Blake and Bryan sat on the bench with the team and retrieved stray balls during warm-ups. Bryan lived his dream and competed nationally on advanced AAU basketball leagues. In 2005, he played in the AAU Basketball Nationals in Memphis, Tennessee.
A native Houstonian, Bryan was a graduate of Stratford High School. He continued his education at Texas A&M University, where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bryan earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 2014. He later excelled in his business career and served as the Director of Sales for Group Benefits with EMG Insurance Brokerage. During his 7-year tenure with the Company, Bryan successfully structured a group medical benefits department from the ground up.
Outside of work, Bryan and his devoted partner, Sarah, fostered dogs requiring specialized and attentive care. Through various rescues, they gave dogs a chance at recovery, life, and finding their “fur-ever” homes. Bryan was a compassionate and empathetic young man who positively touched the lives of everyone he met. He had a gift of making everyone in his life feel special.
Bryan’s spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Deborah Kelting Fite and her husband Ralph H. Fite; father, Mark Steven Kelting; brothers: Dylan Ray Leal and Blake Richard Kelting; his loving companion, Sarah Sgarbi; and many other cherished family members and friends.
Special Note from Sarah:
“I am thankful to have known the unconditional love Bryan showed me and how special he made me feel every day. He used to call me his angel on earth, and now I have to call him my angel in heaven. You will always hold a special place in my heart. I love you, Bryan.”
A Celebration of Life Service is planned at Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Ln, Houston, TX 77042 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, with Pastor James Buntrock, associate pastor of Glorious Way Church and Rev.
