Casey Contreras was born to Tony Contreras and Gema Ramirez on Christmas day in 1993. He joined a loving family of six siblings and two parents whose world was centered around their children. Casey, or “Jimbo”, was an extraordinary person with a wonderful sense of humor. He grew up in the north side of Houston, and eventually moved to Porter Texas.
He graduated from Porter high school and enrolled as pre pharmacy student at Lone Star College with a dream to complete his college degree. Shortly after high school he married Diana Hernandez…they were teenage sweethearts and took their love to the next level. Casey and Diana had a set of twins, Aaliyah Marie and Mya Adara. The twins adored their father, and Casey built his world around the two of them.
Casey’s presence impacted all those around him, and his siblings looked to him for guidance and strength. As a middle child in a large family, he was not one to get lost, but one that led by example. He loved his father and mother dearly, and made sure to keep up with their health and their daily needs. At the end of his life he lived in Humble Texas in a simple historic home full of character and stories…..just like him.
He proudly worked alongside his father and uncle at their used car lot in Houston, and always looked toward the future. His smile and bright eyes would light up the shop, and always greeted strangers in a manner of dignity and warmth. His heart was filled with the desire to always help others and to never ask for anything in return. In the true spirit of his giving nature, Casey’s final wishes were carried out with his organs being donated to those in need. As the Contreras family said their goodbyes to Casey on his final day, Sunday January 11th, another person was being prepared to receive Casey’s heart. Hours later, his heart was transplanted and brought new life. The ultimate sacrifice of giving life to produce new life came to fruition as Casey had so desired.
Casey will be deeply missed by his mother, siblings, cousins, friends and extended family. In lieu of flowers, please help support his wife and children via monetary donation or children’s needs, as they pass through this time of destruction. Love and prayers will pull the family together as they endure this tragedy.
