Cashin Jevan Steward, age 47, of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on February 20, 1975 to parents Robert Earl Steward and Marilyn Steward. Cashin J. Steward received his GED from Houston Community College. He met Roshonda in Houston, Texas and married on July 4, 2015 in Galveston Texas. Cashin was a Supervisor at Prudential Security for 4 years. He was a member of COGIC Evangelist Temple and had a passion for music and arts.
Cashin is preceded in death by his grandmothers Jessie McLauren and Alice McCree; aunt, Zelater Hurst; great aunt, Eula “Nig” Carter.
He is survived by his beloved wife Roshonda Steward; parents, Robert Earl and Marilyn Steward; brother, Karel Marquis Steward and a host of aunts, cousin, and friends.
Serving, as pallbearers are Keith Cotton, T.D. Owens, Elijah Hurst, Roy Cortez, Cedric Martin, Hiram Thompson, Karel Steward, and Robert Steward.

A visitation for Cashin will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2426 Cullen Blvd., Pearland, TX 77581.
