Cecilia Vargas Bolton, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, compassionate nurse, and woman of unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in League City, Texas, at the age of 80.
Born on October 18, 1944, in Girardot, Colombia, Cecilia lived a life marked by love, service, and grace. She shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Steve Bolton, who preceded her death, and with whom she built a beautiful family and life grounded in deep mutual respect, devotion, and enduring love.
Cecilia’s journey took her from Colombia to the United States, where she made homes in Ft. Lee, Virginia; Miami, Florida; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Friendswood and League City, Texas. Along the way, she touched countless lives through her long and dedicated career as a nurse — a vocation that perfectly reflected her compassionate spirit and steady hand.
She was known by all who knew her for her loving kindness, wit, candor, and sense of discipline. But above all, Cecilia was known for her deep Christian faith.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Bryan Bolton and Melissa Hickman, their spouses, Jessica and Darby, and her beloved grandsons, Zane, Mekiah, Garner and Hudson, and was preceded in death by Carson.
She is also mourned by her siblings and their large extended family in Bogotá, Colombia, as well as her family members throughout the United States.
Her life was a testament to love, faith, resilience, and service — and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
