
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles "David" Dean, who left this world on January 17, 2025, at the age of 82. David was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, known for his unique sense of humor and distinctive view of the world.
Born on February 11, 1942, David was the son of Lawrence and Gussie Dean. He had a deep love for science, a brilliant artistic talent, and a passion for writing. He was also a lover of philosophy and had an inventive spirit, particularly when it came to creating gadgets—especially those involving magnets. David found joy in photography, capturing landscapes and special moments with a keen eye and appreciation for the world around him.
He is survived by his loving children, Charles K. Dean and Felicia Crawford, as well as his adored grandchildren, Dylan Dean, Victoria Dean, Coco Crawford, and Guy Crawford. He also leaves behind his brothers Lawrence Dean and Frank Dean, and his sisters Sandra Mitcham and Daisy Jones.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gussie Dean, his brother Anthony Dean, and his sisters Patsy Dean, Shirley Dean, and Debbie Posuk.
A service to honor and celebrate David’s life will be held at Houston National Cemetary at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038 on Thursday, Feb 6th at 10:15 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and pay their respects.
