Charles Sebastian Shavel Maurrasse

Charles Sebastien Shavel Maurrasse was born April 11, 1954 in Port-de-Paix, Haiti to

the late Sebastien and Marie Threrése Jean Gilles Maurrasse. He was one of 13

children: seven boys and six girls. Charles grew up in Haiti, graduated from College

Notre Dame and went to college at First School [school of business management

and marketing]. Charles’ passion was for music, he was a singer and played the

guitar.

Charles left Haiti after graduating from High School, to pursue his life dreams. He

eventually arrived in Houston, Texas, where he became a United States Citizen and

made it his home. He continued his education at Howard University where he

studied Accounting. Charles held many positions in the work force, but successfully

accomplished his entrepreneurial goal in 2008, when he established his own

company called, the Right Choice.

While working in Houston, he would also meet and marry the Love of his life for 43

years, Pat Irene Martin Maurrasse. Both having accepted Christ at an early age they

took their bible teachings “to be fruitful and multiply” literally. Their union was

blessed with four children and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Allen Maurrasse, Lenod Maurrasse and

Clarence Maurrasse. He leaves to mourn: his wife Pat Maurrasse, three sons

Sebastien Shavel Maurrasse, Sheldon Lenod Maurrasse and She’mar Tyrese

Maurrasse, one daughter Sha’da Patrice Maurrasse, and one granddaughter S’Raiah

Rose Maurrasse, all of Houston. Four brothers: Ruzic Maurrasse [Elisabeth], Harold

Maurrasse [Yanick], both of Montreal, Canada; Alix Maurrasse [Roseline] of Port

Sainte Lucie, FL; Edriss Maurrasse [Rose] of Lantana W. Palm Beach, FL. Six sisters:

Enola Maurrasse Dauphin [Jean] of Pembroke Pines, FL; Jessie Maurrasse of

Jacksonville, FL; Marly Maurrasse, of Boca Raton, FL; Carline Maurrasse Bal [Peter]

of Boynton Beach, FL; Leda Maurrasse Daniel [Rodne] of Montreal, Canada; Majorie

Bernardin [cousin/sister] of Boca Raton, FL. Childhood friend, Marc Poliard of

Houston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A visitation for Charles will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Friday, August 16, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at Paradise Funeral Home & Cemetery North, 10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088.
