

CC was born in Houston in 1956 to Henry Leo Stelzig, Jr. and Martha Sour Stelzig. He was the third of four children who grew up in the family business, Stelzig Saddlery.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his brother, Henry L. Stelzig III and his wife Donaji; his sisters, Frances Marie Stelzig-Butler and her husband Wade, Marlee Stelzig-Nickerson and her husband Jerry; plus nephews, Joshua Butler and Jerry Nickerson III; and nieces, Kristen Butler and Kate Nickerson.
CC graduated from Bellaire High School in 1974 and attended Southwest Texas University in San Marcus where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
He was the family historian and loved to dig into family history. His home is a memorial to the family business displaying everything from the oldest of Stelzig saddles to the company books dating all the way back to 1870.
He was a charitable person giving to such organizations as the Houston Zoo, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Demenil Museum. He was a life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and looked forward every year to the festivities of the Rodeo.
Friends are cordially invited to greet the family and share memories of CC during a memorial reception to be held from two until four o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd of April, in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
At a later date, the family will gather for a private inurnment at Washington Cemetery in Houston.
