Charles William Wagnon Jr.

Chuck was born in Houston, Texas, on August 28, 1947, to parents Charles and Marjorie Wagnon. After graduating from Smiley High School, he attended San Jacinto College and received an associate’s degree. Chuck went to work for Westinghouse Elevator and continued working in the elevator industry for over 50 years. When he retired in 2003, he could not rest and decided to continue working part-time as an inspector. Chuck was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors - IUEC local 31 since 1966.

Chuck enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Rough Riders Riding Club. He enjoyed boiling crawfish, barbecuing, and making his awarding winning seasoning distributed all over the US, CHUCK’S RUB. In his free-time you could find him sharpening knives, cleaning guns, and loading bullets. He loved hunting with his kids, grandkids, and close friends - those stories are best left to be told sitting around the campfire.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Charles Wagnon, and his sister, Mary Gribble. He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Joanne Wagnon, his three children and their families: Ron and Shannon Wagnon, Ricky and Tammi Wagnon and Tracey and Kyle Ivy, grandchildren Tenille and Terry Hightower, Candice and Bubba Jackson, Lindsey Wagnon, Lessely and Daniel Shirley, Breanne and Brett Wright, Logan, Emily, and Avery Wagnon, Kyra, Trezzie, and Reese Ivy, great-grandchildren Hyatt, Haylen, and Holdyn Hightower, and Bransyn Shirley, and his step-daughter and her family: Angela and James Lewis, grandchildren Paul Chance and Julia Wilborn, and Devin Lewis, and great-grandchildren Hayden and Liam Wilborn. Chuck also leaves behind numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, Dec 10, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 and Funeral Service at 10:30 in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
