Charlotte E Gibson

Charlotte Gibson, 90, of Livingston, Texas entered eternal rest on May 6, 2025. She was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on August 7, 1934, to Raymond & Clara Strahan. She met Wade Gibson in Livingston, Texas at a gas station where he worked. As she walked to and from school, he would walk out to the street and whistle at her. Finally, one day they exchanged names, and it all began from there. She owned and operated Charlotte’s Beauty Shop for 30+ years. Charlotte enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, and cooking. She planted a beautiful floral and vegetable garden in her yard. She loved attending church and hosting family gatherings.

Charlotte lived for the holidays. She would cook Thanksgiving dinner (but served at noon) for our family which would be a large crowd.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wade Gibson Sr.; son, Claburn Wade Gibson, Jr.; father, Raymond Strahan; mother, Clara Ward; sister, Melba Oliver; and brother, Travis Strahan.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughter, Vicky Williamson & husband Gary; grandchildren, Molly Buford & husband Stacy, Codi Fountain, Clay Gibson & wife Brittany, Cori Vargas & husband Justin, Morgan Buford, Falon Buford, and John Harrison Fountain; great grandchildren, Mattox Gibson, Raelyn Gibson, Malakai Gibson, Ezra Vargas, and Elliana Vargas; sisters, Dorothy Strahan, Wanda Ward & husband Luke, Mickey Stevens & husband Gene, and Katherine Jordan & husband Jack.

A visitation for Charlotte will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Beacon Bay Baptist Church, 7249 FM 3126, Livingston, Texas 77351, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur at 1:00 PM at Midway Cemetery, 264 Midway Cemetery Rd, Livingston, Texas 77351.
