Diaz was a good friend of mine through BMT and I’m sad we didn’t get to hang out like we said we would.

Our honors ceremony for senior year. Even though I was born 15 minutes before you, you were the smarter one and had a higher ranking when we graduated.

Dear Christian,
 We came into this world and lived 18 years together, side by side. We are alike yet different in many ways. We had plans together too. I wanted to spend more birthdays with you since we missed the last six of them together. I realized I was always sad on those birthdays because it was a reminder of how far apart we really were. Our lives have been separate as adults but so intertwined when we were young. I wish we would’ve had more time and memories together but life happens. I cannot change the past and for that I am sorry. I hope you knew how much I loved you. You and I always believed in doing what we had to do because we just needed to do it. It wasn’t like an accomplishment for us, it just was. But Christian, you accomplished so much and you were brilliant. You were a leader and touched so many people’s lives. You wanted to travel and you did. You were adventurous and strong, you didn’t fear much. You lived life to the fullest. You were one of the funniest people I know, and so silly. I could never stay mad at you. I only hope to be half the person you were Christian. You were always the better half. So strong, responsible, and resilient, and there for me when I needed it. Please give me that strength now. I wish you could walk through my bedroom door again and annoy me like you always would, especially when I went through my hard times. I would give or do anything for that, just once more. Just one more conversation, one more laugh, one more smile, one more hug, and a chance to say goodbye. I wanted to see you accomplish all your hopes and dreams but you did do so much. Maybe you can still watch me do mines and be proud. I love you twin. I love you forever and always. In my heart and soul. We’ll find our way back to each other, I know it. So I thank you for being my brother, for being my twin in this life. I’m grateful to have grown up with you by my side. Rest now Christian, it’s what you deserve. Until we meet again.

Airman Leadership School Graduation  💙

To the family of Christian,

My name is Amber Simpson and although I did not know Christian, my husband, Justin Simpson was stationed with him in Korea. Justin had nothing but significant praise to speak of Christian a few weeks prior, he told me how amazing of an airman he was in the profound respect he had for Christian as an airman but also as a man. As a parent, I cannot fathom the loss you are experiencing and from the bottom of my heart I am so very sorry for your loss. Christian left an impact on the unit and especially on my husband and it will never be forgotten.

Christian, I look forward to meeting you in paradise. Thank you for your service to the country and for the way you conducted yourself as a service member, it is something that will keep them living and serving in a way that honors your memory.

I remember when mommy first brought you and your sister home from the hospital I instantly fell in love with you I would hold you and you would stare at me with your beautiful big brown eyes I just loved taking care of you ….. you were such a bright light in my life you always knew how to make others get out of of their funk you knew how to make others smile not only on the outside but on their inside as well. to hear you not only made a big difference in my life but others also, makes me so proud of how much of a beautiful man you became … I miss your voice your smile your beautiful laugh so much you had the biggest greatest personality ever you always went out of your way to get me out of my depression you were such a good baby brother you would notice when I was down and just throw yourself in my room make me laugh so hard and then drag me into your room and we would just talk about all of our favorite things together or I would just watch you play video games for hours. I wish we could talk one more time you were so supportive so goofy so passionate and so brave in life!!! I just want nothing but big hugs from you and to hear your voice so bad. I don’t how long it will be till I’m reunited with you again but I’m going to think about you everyday for the rest of my natural life… I’m going to talk to you everyday till I’m able to hold you again and feel your warm embrace … I LOVE YOU SO MUCH IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT !!!! Christian Diaz Forever loved forever cherished and forever in my heart soul and memories.. I’m never going to forget you … you were my baby . Protected under Gods blanket so you never have to see the bad ever again. Nothing but light and joy.

I love you so much and will miss all the jokes and laughs we had. You were a good hearted person and helped a lot of people with the joy and passion you always had in your soul. I loved our time alone spent together in Vegas. They are some of my best memories and I would never change the choice I made to visit you last minute. I only wished we hugged one more time, so that I could feel your warmth.  I will always carry you in my heart and soul. I know you’re in a better place but wish you didn’t leave so soon. Diaz was in my Airman Leadership School class and he was one of the kindest individuals I’ve met in my AF journey. He was smiley and a little bit like a ray of sunshine spreading positive vibes. When learning how to play volleyball as part of the class requirement, he was the person always willing to teach me and cover for me if the volleyball was coming my way and I didn’t know how to handle it. He would jump to my rescue and prevent me from fumbling the ball. He led with patience and I’ll never forget how that made me feel in that moment.  
To his family: you raised a fine individual and a loving person. I was glad to have met him.

Your loss is felt by family, friends, and fellow Airman. We will certainly not forget your professionalism and dedication to relationships. Clear skies and tail winds my friend.

Christian was far and above one of the best individuals to have ever worked for and with me. His intelligence and attitude was outshined only by his smile which would light up every room he walked into. I respected and trusted him, as did everyone that worked with him. My heart hurts for his passing, as I know yours does. I pray for your peace during this. He was and is loved.
