My heart is deeply sadden today as I learned of the passing of a LONG time friend and shipmate. I will truly miss your calls and us discussing our memories of the times we spent as roommates onboard the USNS San Jose... gone way too soon... Nina

Sweet Christie!  My heart is breaking to know that you've left so many people who love you.  I know you're full of smiles and happiness with your mom, papa and our Lord up in heaven and am glad to know that you're no longer suffering.  I pray for everyone who you've left behind to find peace.  I'm so blessed to say that I was your friend.  Until we meet again sweet girl, I love you always!  Kris

Very sad to hear, I knew Christie Monk back in VF-45 and she was a great person. Funny story, I was a plane a month ago and sat next to a woman that reminded me of Christie and after speaking with her the whole trip, I finally had to ask if her name was Christie. She looked and smiled like her. My condolences goes out to the family.

My sunshine....I don't even know where to begin.  I have loved you for your entire life, for you are my heart.  There are not enough words to express how much I already miss you.  Your silly laugh, your crazy mean faces you made at me when you were mad and had an attitude, lol. Or how you would roll your eyes at me and say whatever and then walk away from me laughing.  I miss 2am Walmart shopping with you or how irritated you would get when someone wanted to take a picture of you, playing cards at the lakehouse and how excited you would get when you won a hand. But I rest easy now knowing you are back with your mom, meme and papa.  I love you Sissy, please never forget that. And yes, I know you're even more mad for calling you that, and that still makes me laugh.  See you later on, my love.

My thoughts and prayer for her loved ones. Forgive me if I'm less than eleoquent, as I just just found out this this wonderful person has passed on.  I am truly saddened.

My heart is breaking!!  Christie was one of the kindest women that I have ever known.   She will be sorely missed!!!

My sincere condolences to my dear friends family and Mitch. Christie and I were stationed together for a year on the USNS San Jose out of Guam. We became very close and have kept in touch over the years. I am very saddened by her passing. She was a good Sailor, shipmate but most of all a good friend. Rest easy Sunshine...

My deepest sympathies go out to her family. We were both new sailors and stationed in Key West together; Christie was one of my dearest friends. Missing her laugh!

Please accept my condolences. I only served with her a short time in Key West, but she was a great person.

I am grateful to have met, served with, and befriended Christie in London. 
I will keep you in my heart and thoughts during this time of grief and treasure the times with Christie always.

We are so Very sad to hear of Christie's passing.  We met her in Souda Bay Greece.  She was an amazing person who loved serving her country and loved life everyday!!
