Christine Merritt Gramling Anderson, 54, died at home April 30, 2025, following a valiant, four-year battle with cancer. Christine was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, aunt, dog mom and friend. She was a C-suite executive, dedicated mentor, All-American athlete — and one of the kindest and most generous people ever to grace the earth. Christine was an introvert and actively avoided the spotlight; but she was a brilliant conversationalist, someone who listened attentively to what others were saying and deeply engaged with their opinions and aspirations. She had the rare gift of making everyone feel they were the most important person in the room. Christine was truly unselfish. She never failed to ask after children, pets, jobs and parents, always remembered others’ important dates and was genuinely touched by every gift, no matter how humble. She was the first to circle the wagons, protecting those she loved, and went out of her way in both her business and personal lives to ensure that anyone crossing her orbit was comfortable and felt part of the group. Christine was known for her generosity, her extravagant gestures and beautifully wrapped presents, her love of peanut butter and Las Vegas and her lifelong dislike of deviled eggs.
Christine married William John Sieger, the love of her life, in 2011 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Houston. Christine and Bill unashamedly adored each other, regularly laughed together and unstintingly shared their love and happiness with friends and family – and their Cavapoo, Jack. The pair traveled often, making frequent visits to Las Vegas and South Bend, Indiana, where Christine and Bill indulged their love for Notre Dame football. Their devotion to each other was even more obvious as Christine faced off against cancer. In the last months of her life, Christine often was more concerned for Bill’s wellbeing than her own, while Bill acted as her unflagging, full-time caregiver.
Christine was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Houston, where she attended Cypress Creek High School, earning a place on the Cougars’ varsity swim team as a freshman. While in high school, she helped set multiple state records with the Cy-Fair Swim Club. She accepted a swimming scholarship to Henderson State University, graduating in 1993 with a BBA in business marketing.
Christine is survived by her husband, William J. Sieger; her brothers, Ronald Gramling and Brian Gramling; her mother, Maryellen Beideman Rutherford; her father and stepmother, Ronald D and Cathi Gramling; and and her nieces and nephews, Katie, Brian and Anabella, and Will, Brad, Molly, Jake, Ben, Lauren and Ethan. She will be deeply mourned and missed by all of them, as well as by her in-laws, Mary and John Sieger, and Maggie (Ian) Kaspura, Kerry (Corey) Sieger, Matt (Holly) Sieger and Michael (Shannon) Sieger.
