

Cloye Turner Shannon passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 15, 1929 to Vera and Samuel Turner. She was the youngest of 3 girls. Cloye had 4 sons, Evan, Eric, Eden and Marc Settegast. She eventually met her husband of almost 50 years, Joseph Robert Shannon, Jr. “Bob”. They blended their families and had a wonderful life together. They spent many years traveling the world, eating at wonderful restaurants, seeing shows and spending summers with their grandchildren at the bay. Cloye was at home at the beach and loved to go on long walks and find shells to fill her home. She was a wonderful hostess and loved to have the entire family over to celebrate the holidays. She would spend weeks planning, so that it would be special for everyone. She was an avid reader and loved architecture and home design. She was a member of the Al Lawrence running club and ran many marathons including Boston, New York and Houston. Most importantly, she was the best Granny and GiGi. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and gave her whole heart to them anytime she was with them.
Cloye was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and their husbands (Jack and Dean Bonner and John and Anna “Sis” Wright), her sons Marc, Eric and Eden Settegast, a grandson Patrick Shannon, her ex-husband Warren “Tiny” Settegast and a son in law Mike Theodosis.
She is survived by her Son, Warren Evan Settegast, her daughter in law Christi Settegast (wife of Eden), her stepchildren: Joseph Robert Shannon III (wife Ann), Daniel Shannon (wife Gail), Jerry Shannon (wife Amy), Carol Willis (husband David) and Sally Hanis (husband Craig). She was also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She will be thought of fondly and missed everyday.
