

Colonel Glenn Lucas Graduated from the University of North Carolina Dental School. After Graduating Dental School he joined the United States Air Force where he served 10 years active duty and acquired further specializations in the field of Dentistry at the University of Texas Dental School. After leaving the Air Force, he opened his own Dental practice in Jacinto City, Texas in 1985. He lived and worked there up until his passing. He was highly respected among the people in the community and will always be remembered there.
He joined the United States Army Reserve in 2000 where he served in multiple missions, including volunteering and serving in Taji, Iraq where he operated the Camp Taji Dental Clinic along with his fellow soldiers. He was Commander of the 7231st Installation Medical Support Unit attached to the 4005th United States Army Hospital where he also served as interim Commander. He loved the country where he operated a little farm including raising livestock, bailing hay, and enjoying the simple country life. He raised 5 kids and always supported them. He loved being with his family, friends, and fellow soldiers. He loved to celebrate life, give to others, and listen to great music. He was an inspiration to all of us and would want nothing more than for us to enjoy life. We love you Colonel Glenn B. Lucas.
He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Lucas and Daniel Lucas; daughter, Jennifer Lucas; stepsons, Ken Tate and Andrew Tate and his family; and his siblings in North Carolina.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2011 from 10am until 12:30pm followed by a funeral service to celebrate the life of Glenn B. Lucas. Burial will then occur at Myrtle Cemetery in Rock Island, Texas.
