My dear friend Connie, still hard to believe your gone !  From the very first time I met you on a Trailride you treated me like you had known me for years!  I knew then that our friendship will be one forever.   Your smile, sweet , kind and caring soul will be greatly missed.   You were definitely the leader of the pack .  Well fly high my friend , your free now no more pain for that I’m grateful for.  Your voice was so weak these last phone calls.  But I know you never gave up!  You fought to the end.   

Please ask God to put his comforting arms around your family and friends because we are going to miss you so much!!   There will never be a Trailride without me thinking of you!  Rest In Peace my friend.

Conny will be missed by many, her wittiness, her finesse, her fiesty character, her love for all her trailriding family. I loved how she would get after me when she thought I wasn't taking care of myself or if Oscar was sick she'd always call and check on us.

Dear Martinez and Quintanilla familiy, my heart grieves in the loss of your Connie , my first cousin. Although I hadnt seen her in awhile I have found memories of her. The picture I will share is one day when the girls would bring Tia over to see her sister Rachel(my Mom) and all of us. Precious memories. She and my oldest brother Rico, were very close.  Connie had a BIG heart and a big smile to go with that. A smile that was contagious and always ready and willing to help.
I pray the God of love and peace would wrap His loving arms around yall right now.  That He would give yall strength and that He would bring the family closer than ever before. I pray that we would all live for Christ as if it were our last day here on earth.  Today is the day of Salvation, may we all be ready when we take our last breath here. Amiga mia, my heart is so broken, but you are now with your daddy and mommy in heaven! I will never forget our memories that we shared for so many years, there will never be a beautiful lady as yourself! I know you will be riding along with me and your many good friends!! I remember my mom taking me to meet you for the first time. I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t have any memory before that day, but you did. You already knew who I was. When we walked into the apartment there you where, I didn’t know what to do, but you hugged me and held me tight in your arms. I didn’t know you then but I knew I loved you and that day a piece of me stayed with you.  
You will forever stay in my heart and I will forever remember the times we were able to spend together.

I am truly saddened by Connie's passing.  I know she was fighting hard to beat her illness, particularly since Connie was such a hard driving go getter.  
She saw her property through several disasters and was the best manager that ever worked at Park on Vista.
She was a friend and caring individual and helped me and several members of my family, which was a natural thing for her since she was such a loving person.
We will miss Connie and hope that her loved ones will be consoled in their loss.

You where my special friend , a Diva, a Cowgirl, a leader and most of all a kind hearted woman. 
I will never forget when you and I went to the Chona Ride in South Texas. On the way we laughed, cried and got to know one another very well. You remember on the way there we stopped to help Alma & Neto Reyes because they had a flat and then my crazy self tripped our the jack and broke my elbow. Did that stop us no we stayed on the ride for 3 days then came home. What a laugh we had not knowing my arm & elbow was broken till I got home.. Melo was so upset. Then the next time I went to the Chona he had to go and you where not able to go that year. 
Girl, I Am so broken to have lost you but I know God needed  his Queen back , but my heart really hurts. You told me to stay healthy so we can do The Mission Ride next year . Now I have to do it alone, but I know your beautiful soul will be with me . I just can’t believe your gone. You told me “I‘m ok cabrona you be ready for next year.” Well I know you are rejoicing in the heavens ,but Chica I just think it’s a dream that soon I will wake up and you will be here. 
Melo and I will do the The Mission Ride 2021 in your honor..

On behalf of my father's clan Johnny Martinez - We want to extend our heartfelt condolences and respect to the family.  I can recall many fond memories of my tia she had a warm spirit and I always felt like she treated me as if I were her own.  I used to enjoy her storytelling of the old days regarding Grandpa and Grandma as well as hearing stories of Dad, Uncle Rob, and Uncle Roy. I will never forget how she would embrace us with her unconditional love and support. I can remember many of the old family gatherings and how she seemed to beam energy into the party with her lively spirit. She was charming and she always seemed to know the right things to say no matter the situation. There is no doubt that she made peace with the almighty and is now resting in the glory, I'd imagine grandma and grandpa were waiting on the other side to greet her with their arms wide open.  God bless you all, I pray that the almighty bless you all in abundance with peace and understanding so that you may all stand in unity to support one another in this difficult time.      

My memories are far to many  I’m sure the boys remember , in younger days pictured here and my recent picture taken  , Conny said to me , You and I have a special bond that nobody will ever break .   Still can hear her say it . We  had made plans but God had other plans , until I see you again , save a chair at the Master’s table for me , love you to heaven and back

My favorite memory was when me and CJ went to her house and she introduced me to her horse. She let us feed him and everything. There was never a dull moment with her, she told it like it was! She also always made me feel welcomed! I will miss you Grandma Connie!

I remember that we would talk for hours, about trailriding of when we would be going to the Valley ride, Friendship ride, to be with all our friends!

My grandma would always put a smile on everyones face. She was also never afraid of anything and beleive me she cod cook. We will akways remember our grandma and we'll always love her.

This was the day I told her I was pregnant with Christian.  He became her Papi Chulo, she showed so much love to my babies.  For many years she was my mother and no matter the ups or downs I always knew she was there for us.  She will be missed by all of us.

Your Mother was an Amazing, loveable, Adorable,  Beautiful and much more Person.  We met on a Trail Ride. On one of the trail ride in Shiner  Tx,
at the Petersville Bar.
We had a blast that night. We decided to be partners in taking a salt & pepper  shaker. Hide in our purse. Then all of a sudden she ask my husband Tony,  to get this Helmet down, so she could keep it for a souvenir. 
He look at us ! He said no way!  Conny started laughing so hard and told him she was just joking.
I do want to thank all of you'll  for sharing her with us. Also a Big Thanks to Michelle, for relating messages to Conny , from me. Also giving me messages from Conny. She was weak . Thank you again.

My beautiful grandmother, I wish I could lay next to you and hold your hand like I used to. I wish I could hear you getting after my kids one last time . I wish you could tell me how much I look like my mom and how much you love me. I miss you dearly. I will never forget your gorgeous smile. You were always so strong. I’m know God took you with both hands and saved you from all the pain you went through. You’re finally at peace . Please always watch over me and my family .

When I first started to come around the trail riding family, Conny introduced herself with a big smile and from there on everytime I would see her on the rides she always had a compliment to say to me. She was too sweet. I also remember when I first met her, she told me that one day she would get back on a horse and when she did I would need to get on one as well.  Until this day I haven't because it stuck in my head that she told me "that your going to fall your going to fall! Everyone falls one time or other" Thanks Conny! For scaring me lol.. but I will soon be riding and will remember your beautiful big smile when I fall lol! You will be dearly missed my friend.


Grandma Conny, I love you too the moon and back. I want to start by saying thank you so much form the bottom of my heart because without you grandma my life and the person I am today would not be possible. By living your life and making all the exact decisions you did, I in return was beyond blessed to have the most amazing daddy in the whole wide world, I was blessed to have the best little big sister anyone could ask for and two little brothers that mean the world to me. And that’s not even a dent of all the amazing things that I have in life because of you my grandma. I have two very cherished memories with you, the first being when I was turning  13 you bought me my very first porcelain doll. For my birthday You and I walked around looking and searching the whole flea market For what seemed like hours Until you spotted one you loved and called me over, you said this one is it, she was so beautiful and when we both looked at her name tag we knew the search was over, because After all the dolls we had looked at that day you without even knowing, ended up choosing Catherine, her name was my exact name, it was fate. My 2nd very cherished memory are your hugs to sleep, you hugged so tight that at times I couldn’t breath, but I would never tell you or move an inch because in those moments your hugs were the best feeling in the world with the most love and warmth that I will never ever forget, and I one day will hold my grandchildren with that Very same grandma Conny sleeping hug. Jayden and I love you!

It was Cinco de Mayo 2019 my baby and I had so much fun. We drank, we swam, had some bar b q, listened to some music. I had a crazy weekend told you all about it, we laughed we played with the babies. I wish I would have known then what I know now so I could cherish our time a little more. 

I remember laying in bed with grandma and Trini walked in. She was not having it! She came and laid right in the middle of us.

   Your  wish was to ride in C-Troop 19 Annual 2020. Trail Ride.  When the present world issue is controlled and We schedule Our Trail Ride.    Our ride will be in Your Kind, loving,caring. Memory.  RIP Amiga.

C-Troop. Trail Riders

I love this picture. I was 22 years old and pregnant and grandma is still holding me like big baby. Some of my best memories are with my grandma. Going on trail rides with grandma, spending the night at grandmas, my grandma took me to get my first piercing (I took it out before I got home because my mom said she would rip it out and I believed her) but my grandma was the coolest. She was always on my side no matter what and I knew I always had a room at grandmas house. I will always miss you grandma. I love you.

I will always remember my friend, it didn’t take long to become friends because of her kindness. 
She was needed, God had his plan and needed her to be an angel, Conny knew how to welcome people and was able to comfort them also. I know because she always knew what to say to me at my grieving time. 
I will never forget you my friend and especially all the memories I have of you, your pictures your little gifts that mean so much to me ❤️

To my beautiful tia I'm going to miss you so much.. I just sit and think about all the good memories we had together and you was always there for me...

On Mother's Day, May 12, 2019, Connie, me and the kids, took a trip to Galveston. We had an awesome lunch at Bubba Gump's. The waiter was struggling to take our order at first, so Connie told him to talk to her in Spanish because his English is TERRIBLE. He laughed and got very comfortable. It was nice to see how relaxed she made him, when he was clearly struggling at first. After lunch, we took a dolphin tour. The kids both remember that boat ride with Grama Connie and I'm sure they'll never forget it. Thank you for the memories, Ma.
