Born on June 3, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, Craig grew up in Orange County, where he developed his lifelong love of travel, music, and sports. These passions remained central to his life. He and his loving wife, Ruel, shared countless adventures together, including a memorable trip to Ireland earlier this spring with the O’Sullivan/McLeod Tour. Craig also enjoyed weekend getaways to Bossier City and Lake Charles, Louisiana, and to Las Vegas, Nevada. For many years, Craig and Ruel treasured their involvement with the North Texas Irish Festival, most recently volunteering with the performer liaison crew.
A devoted supporter of all Los Angeles sports teams, Craig held a special place in his heart for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also loved attending Houston Astros games with family, cheering enthusiastically at every opportunity.
Craig built a long and successful career as a Systems Engineer, spending many of those years with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). His dedication and expertise led to a fulfilling career that allowed him to retire in his 50s—opening a new chapter of travel, music events, and peaceful days spent walking their beloved dog, Sydney, and visiting her favorite park.
Craig was a wonderful husband; a caring brother to his sister, Denise; and a devoted stepfather and grandfather to Ruel’s daughters and grandchildren. He was a friend to all who met him, known for his warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. Craig touched many lives, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Ruel; his sister, Denise, and her husband, Kevin; his niece, Taylor, and nephew, Sean; his stepdaughters, Shannon and Holly; and his granddaughters, Madison, Makayla, and Gianna. He also leaves behind many in-laws, cousins, and extended family members. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nancy Burton.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/ in his memory.
