Cruz Montemayor

Cruz G. Montemayor passed away peacefully at his home on April 28, 2015. He was born in Elgin, Texas on May 3, 1922 to Jose Angel and Agustina Montemayor; the seventh of eight children. He was preceded in death by wife Maria Dolores, daughter Rosalinda, granddaughter Angelica and daughter-in-law Blanca. He was raised in Mexico before settling in Houston. He never forgot his beloved relatives in Mexico. He served in the US Army during WWII. Upon discharge, he met his future wife, Maria Dolores Vega. They were blessed with 4 children. He is survived by his children: Joe Angel (Gloria), Gilbert, and Mary Dolores (Vance), 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and brother, Ponciano (Aurora). Cruz was a devoted husband and father and worked for U. S. Steel for 31 years. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held at Crespo Funeral Home 2516 Navigation Blvd. Houston, TX. 77003 from 2 -6PM Sunday, May 3, with rosary at 5PM. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 2405 Navigation Blvd. Houston, TX. 77003 at 10 AM Monday, May 4. Interment immediately following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX. 77023. Arrangements under the direction of Crespo FH - Navigation, HOUSTON, TX.
