Cynthia was born April 11, 1942 in Luton, Bedfordshire, England to Hilda and Arthur Jones. She had two brothers, Brian who emigrated to Australia with his family, and David who remained in England. Cynthia and her best girlfriend, Helen Dixon Allen emigrated to the U.S. in 1963, when they were both 21 years oId which took a lot of courage.
Cynthia was proud to become a U.S. citizen in 1982.
She was a hair stylist for men, barber, for most of her working career. She loved her work and the tips that came with it. I was one of her customers and she said that I was a poor tipper.
She worked at the top salons in the Galleria area in Houston. She told me that she knew the personal home life of many of her customers. Men like to talk.
Cynthia is survived by her husband and several nieces and nephews
living in the U.S, England and Australia.
