

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Damon Dexter, a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. Damon departed this life on 4/01/2026 in Houston, Texas. A native Houstonian, Damon, was born 9/19/1974 to Janie and Rex Dexter. He graduated from North Brook high school, proudly served in the Navy and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from UT Health Science Center Houston. Damon enjoyed a career in nursing and IT for over 20 years at Houston Methodist Hospital, Harris Health and more recently, Houston Methodist the Woodlands.
Damon was cherished by family, friends, and all who knew him for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to those around him. Damon was the person that was always willing to help anyone with any need at any time. He valued his friendships and kept meaningful contact with friends he made regardless of changes in employment or distance. He was a playful person who greeted everyone with a smile, a sparkle in his eyes ready to share in a laugh or mischief. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the memories we hold dear.
Damon is pre-deceased by his oldest brother Rex Jr, followed by his father, Rex Dexter. He is survived by his loving mother Janie Dexter; his brothers Derek, Duane and wife Helen, and youngest brother Jaron; his nieces and nephews Kimberly, Tyler, Hailey, Devin, Anais and Austin who will forever remember his love and guidance.
Services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive on 5/1/2026, where we will gather to honor and celebrate his remarkable life.
