

Daniel Bernard Zientek passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Katy, Texas. Daniel was born September 6, 1941 to Max and Gertrude Zientek, in Chappell Hill, Texas. He was raised in the Catholic church alongside his sister Angeline and brother Pete.
He met his wife Barbara through a mutual friend at Barbara’s high school and the rest, as they say, was a love story in the making. They married at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on April 25, 1964, where they still attend today. They soon began their family and had 3 wonderful boys, which were the center of their world. Daniel was a wonderful father and husband.
He worked for Hahn and Clay, in the oil industry, for well over 20 years. In the years after retirement, he enjoyed visiting the lake and watching his grandaughters and great nieces and nephews grow.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Smith Zientek, sons John Zientek and wife Tracey of Sealy, Michael Zientek of Sealy, Christopher Zientek of Houston, grandaughters Jaclyn and Abigail Zientek. He is also survived by his sister Angeline Januszewski, brother Pete Zientek, and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary starting at 7:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039; and a funeral service on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St, Houston, TX 77018; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
