David Frame, Jr. was born on the 11th of November, 1929, in Evanston, Illinois, the son of David Frame Sr. and Eloise Lomas Frame, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, the 4th of December 2014, in Houston, at the age of 85.
He attended River Oaks Elementary, Lanier, Lamar High School, and graduated with a degree from The University of Texas in 1952. He joined Kappa Sigma (Tau Chapter) fraternity where he developed friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
A self taught student of architecture, David enjoyed a brief real estate development career before ultimately joining his father in the oil and gas exploration and production investment business. However, he remained an avid builder to his last day.
David was a pilot, yachtsman, automotive enthusiast, builder and wildcatter. He would spend all day in an engine room or under the hood of a car with an engine manual in his hand if he could get away with it. He was a loyal, dependable and faithful friend to many and a devoted husband and father.
David is survived by his wife, Lou Scoggin Frame; daughter, Hilary Frame Crady and her husband Ned Crady, their children, Grayson Sloan Crady, Sloan Cook Crady and Rimmele Lomas Crady; and his son, David Frame III and his wife Jennifer Griffith Frame, their children, David Frame IV, Alexander Sullivan Frame and Colin William Frame. Survivors also include his sister, Eloise Frame Riviere and her husband, Arthur Bernard Riviere; and his cousin, Nancy Ann Frame. The family also wishes to express their love and gratitude to Jose Enrique Soto.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock this afternoon until seven o’clock this evening, Sunday, the 7th of December, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A memorial service is to be conducted at half-past eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 8th of December, in the Chapel of the Church of St. John the Divine, 2450 River Oaks Boulevard in Houston, where the Rev. Reagan Cocke, Associate Rector, is to officiate. Serving as honorary pallbearers are George Bolin, R. George Cunningham, Bobby Easton, Jack Edwards, George Francisco, Henry Hamman, Bob Herrin, John Houchins, Don Huge, Yogi Jogerst, Frank Nelms, Stuart Phelps, Bob Pullen, Bernie Riviere, Ricky Soto, and John Zwiacher.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Sumners Hall.
Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in memory of David Frame Jr. be directed to Texas Biomedical Research Institute, P.O. Box 760549, San Antonio, Texas 78245-0549; or to the charity of one’s choice.
