

David Giles Madray died peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. David was born on June 8, 1969, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Giles and Becky Davidson Madray and sister of Meredith Elizabeth. He attended elementary school in Dallas and graduated from Memorial High School in Houston. He attended colleges in Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D. C. David was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church where he was active in the singles ministry, taught Sunday School and Bible classes, and sang in the choir. David will be buried in the cemetery in Ozona, Crockett County, Texas, next to his grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents. His great-great-grandfather, Judge Charles E. Davidson, was one of the founders and organizers of Crockett County, named the town of Ozona, and was County Judge for 53 years until his death. David is survived by his husband Jesse Madray of Houston, his parents, his sister Meredith Montgomery and her husband Clark Montgomery, his niece Georgia Rebecca Montgomery, and many friends.
David loved music, playing trumpet in his middle and high school years. He loved sports, especially our Houston teams. He was an avid Astros fan, proud of the team winning or losing. From the beginning he was a Texans fan, enjoying his father’s season tickets whenever offered. If the Rockets were playing on TV, David was watching. He was an adored son and is missed.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, April 30, at 3:00 at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston 77079, in Friendship Court. Burial will be at 3:00 Saturday, May 4, in Ozona, Texas.
