

Our beloved, David McBride, Sr., the Patriarch of 5 generations, made his transition to his new life on February 19, 2022. He was born in Cooks Point, Burleson, County, Texas the son of Joseph and Ida Toynes McBride.
In Palmer, Texas, he married Lucille Allen and they were married for 70 years before transitioning on August 11, 2010, and they were the parents to twelve children. He will join her and their son, Joseph G. McBride and daughters Melissa McBride, Sharon McBride Marshall and Vivian Routt in Heaven.
His memory will be cherished by his children, Betty Caldwell, Rachel Davis (Roosevelt), David McBride Jr., Cynthia McBride, Sylvia McBride, Gwendolyn McBride, Marilyn McBride and Michelle Shepherd (Robert).
Grandchildren are Wendolyn Smith, Jerome Davis, Dwaine Davis, Gerald Davis, Kenneth Davis, Luchelle Hunter, Lourine Davis, Renita Robinson, Terrence McBride, Latresha McBride, Birdie Jones, Andrea Marshall, Lucinda McBride, David Marshall, and Jeremy McBride. There are also many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was proud to have lived to see five generations of his family and he had a special relationship with his buddy Preston Cook who was born in his 100th year.
His family was among the founder members of Incarnation Episcopal Church which merged with St. Michaels Episcopal Church to form Hope Episcopal Church.
He took great pride in the homes he built for his family with his own hands including the carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. After his retirement after almost 30 years at Smiths Industries, he was an avid gardener and was known in the community for his produce. He was a kind and generous man well respected in the community
A visitation for David will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Hope Episcopal Church, 1613 West 43rd Street, Houston, TX 77018. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
