

On the glorious day of March 16, 1948, Billy Joe Sweat was born in the hometown of Lovelady, Texas to the proud parents of Sherman & Estella Sweat. He attended Center Grove High School where he graduated.
He moved to Houston and married the love of his life, Sharren Stewart on March 10, 1977. God blessed them to enjoy 44years together.
He was a hard working man. He was employed by Armco Steel and Schlumberger where he retired from both companies.
He attended Greater Northeast Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. V. L. Parker. He later joined New Purity Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C. R. Parker where he was ordained a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents– Estella & Sherman Sweat, three Sisters- Carolyn Sweat, Maple Sweat, JoAnn Taylor, one Brother– Joe Sweat, Sr; Mother and Father In-Laws M.C. & Bertha Anderson, three nephews Joe Sweat, Jr, Donald Cooper & Terrance Cooper.
He leaves to cherish the memories of his life his devoted wife Sharren Sweat; two daughters Subrina (Curtis) Parker, Tiffiney Stewart; two sons-Tyrone (Harrietta) Stewart, Billy Sweat, Jr.; two brothers Don (Linda) Sweat & Willie (Chandra) Watson; one sister Elizabeth Dixon; eight Sisters-in Laws Co-Pastor Carolyn Harrison, Nanette Price, Vallery Washington, Ramona (Kenneth) Williams, Bertha Wilson, Terry Robbins, Karlette Stewart, Patricia (Quintress) Dixon; two Brother in Laws M. C. (Donna) Anderson and McKinney Anderson; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
