

Debbie Lynn Ewins was born in Long Beach, California on November 3, 1955 to Earle and Charlene Ewins. Debbie spent her early years in Lakewood California, but in 1975 when she was 20, moved to Houston, Texas when her father, who worked for Shell, was transferred.
While working at Wisenberg Insurance Agency, she met Connie Fetzer. Connie set Debbie up with a blind date with her brother James Gordon. In less than a year, Debbie and James were married. After the birth of her first child, Debbie juggled the roles of wife, companion, homemaker, home financial manager and mother. Then came another child, and years later, three grandchildren.
She loved her grandsons, family and friends, Disneyland and jellyfish. Some of her hobbies included stamping, scrapbooking, photography, travel and geo-caching.
Debbie died on February 6, 2014 after a brief battle with breast cancer. She is survived by husband James Gordon; daughters Michelle Scarbrough and Rebecca Gordon; grandsons William, Ethan and Oliver Scarbourgh; sister Earlene Young and her husband Thomas; nephews Adrien and Julien Young, and John and Jeffery Fetzer; and niece Sarah Gordon. She was preceded in death by her parents Earle and Charlene Ewins and brother Eugene Ewins.
She is now with her parents and brother again.
Memorial Services will be held at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church (2400 Wilcrest in Houston, TX 77042) on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to your favorite charity or to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
