Delia Marie De La Rosa, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by
loved ones on Wednesday June 26, 2024 in Houston, Texas.
Delia was born on August 28, 1944 in Edna, Texas in Jackson County.
She spent her younger years living with her parents and siblings in
Houston, Texas until her adventurous spirit called her out to the west
coast to live in California as a young adult. Our family enjoyed visiting
her and spending time in Santa Cruz, California at the boardwalk, seeing
the sights, and sharing memories with her. Delia then moved closer to
home residing in north Austin, Texas for several years where she
enjoyed spending time in the hills surrounding Lake Travis. She finally
returned home to Houston, Texas where she decided to remain with her
family.
Delia had a big heart and a beautiful smile. She was a private person, but
enjoyed sharing stories, spending time with family, and having fun. She
enjoyed music, cooking, crossword puzzles, and especially her dogs. She
was strong-willed and independent, and those traits defined Delia. They
were part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal
with life’s challenges.
Delia is survived and missed by her siblings Delma D. Suarez, Ophelia
Calzada, Julie Hernandez, and Josie De La Rosa and her husband Roger
Williams. She is also loved and remembered by many nieces, nephew,
and great nieces and nephews.
Delia was predeceased by her parents Anita and Ysabel De La Rosa as
well as her brothers Vincent and Johnny De La Rosa.
Delia loved big and she will be deeply missed; however, we take
comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in heaven surrounded by
light and love.
