Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Shelton; his children, Shirley (Rickey) Shenkir and Adam (Lexi) Shelton; his grandchildren, Makayla and Benjamin Shenkir; his brothers, Rick (Marva) Shelton and Danny (Kim) Shelton; his father-in-law, Raymond Frame; his sisters-in-law, Tammy Frame and DeAnna (Alan) Finney; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Loretta Shelton, and his mother-in-law, Nancy Frame.
Dennis was full of life, love, and most of all, laughter. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and brother, and a proud and gracious Pappa. He enjoyed fishing peacefully by the water and, in his younger years, was known for being able to twirl anyone around the dance floor. Above all else, his favorite thing was simply spending time with the people he loved and cherished. If you were lucky enough to be in his presence, you never left without a good laugh and a tight hug.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held on May 27, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
Active Pallbearers will be Scott Robinson, Danny Shelton Jr., Rickey Shenkir, Arinn Shelton, Wyatt Shelton, and Kent Robinson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Adam Shelton.
