Derrick was a friend/classmate at Big Ike!  Derrick had a smile that would light up the room, he always offered a kind word with that smile.  Basketball season at Ike was always a fun time. My deepest condolences to his family, may his memory be a blessing.

While we all know in this life, we are here temporarily. But those of us who remain on this earth hurt for the loved ones that move on to paradise as Jesus promised us. Derrick Murphy was my teammate, my friend, my brother. This one hurts God I ain’t gonna lie. We all love Derrick with his infectious smile. I have not seen Derrick since 8th grade at Eisenhower.  The minute I saw his picture; it brought a smile to my face.  He was such a kind, caring and fun person.
