Diane Mary Tolley

On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, very unexpectedly, Diane Mary Caulking Tolley went to be with her Lord. She suffered a long and debilitating illness, but seemed to be beating the problems, when she passed on without any other warnings.

Diane was born on July 17, 1954 to Mary Angelina and Kenneth Earl Caulking in Houston. She went to graduate from Waltrip High School and Sam Houston State University. She graduated with a degree in Teaching, Immediately, after graduating, she continued working for J C Penney where she worked during college. After that she worked for Shell Oil Company in the geophysics department working with the engineers in the field. She entered the teaching profession at Stevens Elementary School in Houston Independent School District. On November 18, 1978, she married Henry Hall Tolley, Jr. On September 6, 1979 they were presented with a son, Henry Christopher Tolley. She worked a couple of more years and went home to care for her son. When he was in Stevens Elementary, she returned to teaching. She continued at Stevens for a few years and then transferred her talents to St. Augustine, a part of the Catholic Education system. She & Henry were also minority partners of a security company for a short time and also held positions as a delivery driver with Pizza Hut and had a paper route with the local community paper, The Leader. She sang in the Choirs at St. Ambrose and St. Rose for over 50 years, she also spent some time with the Galveston/Houston Diocesan Choir. She loved to sing for her Lord. After her early retirement, she spent many hours doing crafts for the sick and bereaved at Church.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Pete and Angelina Peruza and Joseph and Bertha Caulking, her father, Kenneth Earl Caulking, several uncles and aunts, and her husband Henry Hall Tolley, Jr.

She is survived by her son Henry Christopher Tolley, her mother, Mary Angelina Caulking, her husband, Henry Shaw, her cousins, David Ray and Wayne Sanderson, along with Brian West.
