Some of her other hobbies included playing golf and tennis, and coaching elementary girls and leading ladies’ exercise classes at the YMCA. In 1998, Dot won the Senior Mixed Doubles Championship in Senior Olympics Tennis in Temple, Texas.
Dot was proceeded in death by her daughter, Michelle Marie Shepherd, her parents, Edwin and Mary Brom, her brother Edwin David Brom, her mother-in-law, Ethel Kisling, and several other extended family members.
