

Donald Glen Roberts was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on August 14, 1935, the youngest of nine children born to Thomas Jennings Roberts and Lodie Lee Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: D.E. Roberts, Fred Roberts, Hubert Roberts, Dick Roberts, Kenneth Roberts and Charles Roberts, and sisters Betty Pittman and Tommie Jean Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his mother in law Carmen Jack of River Falls, Wis., who loved him like a son, and his brother in law, Tracy Jack who was his Wis. fishing partner.
Survivors include wife, Dixie Roberts, Son, Todd Roberts Sr. and wife, Antoinette of Austin, Texas, Jay Roberts and wife, Tina of Houston and Reid Roberts and his special friend, Marsha Akers of Houston. Grandchildren: Michelle Roberts Iken (Jon), Jennifer Roberts Speyrer (Tim), Todd Roberts, Jr. (Stacy), and Michael Roberts (Chelsea) all of Austin, Texas. Jason Roberts (Stephanie) and Justin Roberts (Kristy) of Houston. Great Grandchildren: Brynn and Cole Roberts and Paxton and Brody Speyrer of Austin, Texas and Whitney and Emily Roberts of Houston.
Additional survivors include brother in laws Ted Jack of Hayward, Wis., and wife Judy, John Pittman, of Huntington, Texas, sister in laws Alma Roberts of New Caney, Texas, Verlene Roberts of Etoile, Texas and Barbara Roberts of Nacogdoches, Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Don entered the armed forces after high school graduation and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Don retired from the City of Houston Fleet Management Division of the Finance and Administration Department in 1999 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Reagan Lodge 1037, Fellowship Class of Fairhaven Methodist Church, and a former volunteer at Fairhaven Food Pantry.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home. A reception will be held after the service, also at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home.
