Donald Ray Ward

Donald Ray Ward, 79, of Katy, Texas passed away on Saturday October 29, 2011. He was born on Sunday September 11, 1932 in Charleston, West Virginia to Richard and Anna Ward. Donald attended Trevecca Nazarene College and then graduated from the University of Charleston. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald and Ramona were married on June 1, 1956 in Charleston, West Virginia. He attended the Bear Creek Baptist Church and was active in the Bear Creek Ministries. He also sang in a men’s choir and was an avid runner for years. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Ward; son, Mike Ward and his wife Nancy, daughter, Holly Borman and her husband Kevin, daughter, Kelly Ward and her friend Danny Eldridge, son, J.B. Ward and his wife Catherine (Cat); grandchildren, Matt, Evan, Gavin, Jack, Ethan, and Kate Ward; sister, Sue Ness and her husband Jim, and sister, Anna bell Phillips. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2011at 2:00PM in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. The family will receive friends and family 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow services in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
