Dora Laura Alim

Dora Laura Alim, age 60 resided in Missouri City Texas. She was born in Brownsville Texas to her parents Maria Elena Huerta and Ignacio P. Huerta on September 10th, 1965. She attended Landtrip Elementary for kindergarten, then Blessed Sacrament Catholic School. Dora attended Jackson Junior High, and graduated from Austin High School in 1984. She attended the University of Houston for two years. As a young girl, she grew up in Houston Texas, and she enjoyed dancing and listening to music. Dora’s favorite bands were Journey, KC and the sunshine band, ABBA, and the Bees Geez. Dora enjoyed movies as well. Two of her favorite things were going to concerts and going out to eat. Her love for eating at restaurants was inherited from her father. In high school she was a part of the drill team “the mustang misses”. Dora got married on December 19th, 1987 to her husband Kamal Alim, and on February 2nd,1989 gave birth to her first daughter, Amber Alim. On May 30th,1990 she gave birth to her second daughter Sanya Alim. She is preceded in death by her father Ignacio P Huerta. She is survived by her husband, Kamal Alim, her two daughters Sanya and Amber Alim, her mother Maria Elena Huerta, and her two grandsons Azlan and Zayn Shike, as well as her siblings Ignacio, Angel, and Mireya Huerta. Dora loved spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoyed a good joke and had a great love for good perfumes. Dora’s all time favorite food was hot dogs. She was passionate about helping others, Dora enjoyed working for the Houston Read Commission. When she had started dialysis, Dora kept working until she couldn’t anymore. Once she was unable to work, she dedicated herself to her two loves, her grandsons Azlan and Zayn. Dora was a wonderful, resilient, selfless, strong woman. She fought a battle and she lived for her grandsons. Her strength and courage is a reminder to us that no matter what happens in our lives to keep on trying and fighting for those who we love the most.

A visitation will be held on January 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003. A Rosary Service will take place at the same venue on January 15, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

A Vigil Service is scheduled for January 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo. The Committal Service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, located at 8601 Almeda Genoa Rd, Houston, TX 77075, on January 16, 2026, at 11:30 am.
