Dora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. We find comfort in knowing she is resting in peace and reunited with our loved ones in heaven.
She was born to Antonio and Josephine Zavala on February 27, 1946, in Fulshear, Texas. She met Valentin Ramos, Jr. while attending Jefferson Davis High School, in Houston, he immediately swept her away and they eloped shortly thereafter. Dora and Valentin were married for 60 years; together they raised five children Valentin Ramos, III (wife, Tronda Marie), Carlota Casiano, Valerie Ann Villanueva, Marcy Lynn Suarez (companion, Chris Rebando), and Paul Andrew Ramos (wife, Nora Suzanna)
She had 14 grandchildren, Toni Marie Keller, Joshua Aaron Villanueva, Eric Jason Villanueva (wife, Sarah Marie), Steven A. Villanueva, Jr. (wife, Mackenzie Lynn), Paul Andrew Ramos, Jr., Valentin Ramos, IV, Veronica Danielle Ramos, Jennifer Lynn Villanueva, Angelina Michelle Suarez, Timothy Michael Ramos, Selena Renee Ramos, Phillip Suarez, III, Krystal Ann Ramos and Joseph Eulalio Suarez; 6 great-grandchildren, Joshua Aaron Villanueva, Jr., Reid Morgan Ramos, Sadie Alyse Villanueva, Mariana Marie Villanueva, Riley Grace Villanueva, and Kylie Elizabeth Villanueva; and 7 surviving siblings, Tony V. Zavala, John V. Zavala, Marcus V. Zavala, Frank V. Zavala, Joann Z. Vasquez, Martha Garcia, and Guadalupe Ybarra.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Veronica Ramos, parents, Antonio and Josephine Zavala; sisters, Marcelina Flores, Camila Ramirez, and Pauline Armenta; aunt, Amalia Zavala, and sons-in-law, Eulogio Casiano, and Phillip Suarez, Jr..
Affectionately known as mom and later grandma to so many more than just her biological children and grandchildren she welcomed all with open arms. Before her passing, she requested that we acknowledge the following embraced family members:

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. The viewing will begin at noon, followed by a vigil (mass) at 2 pm, with a reception from 3-5 pm. The rosary will occur at 5 pm, and services will end with the final viewing from 6-10 pm. (Grandma Dora’s wishes are to be cremated)
