Doris graduated from Regan High School. She met Charles Kennedy in Houston, Texas, and they married on October 19, 1957. Doris invested her entire life as a wonderful mother and homemaker. She had a passion for sharing her faith in Jesus Christ and gardening.
She always pointed you to Christ in every season of your life; it didn't matter what she was personally going through. She never went a day without smiling when you were around her. She loved her family and life!
She was a repeat offender of stealing chili and desserts from her grandchildren at Thanksgiving dinner.
Hot Springs, Arkansas, will always be her second home where she could bring every item she owned, spend hours completing puzzles, and pour herself into her quiet time with the Lord.
Her quick-witted, truthful sarcasm will always linger in all of our memories!
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Kennedy; parents, Andrew and Ruth Anderson; father and mother-in-law, W.O. and Martha Kennedy; grandson, Daniel Maze; and eight older brothers and sisters.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Pam Maze; sons, David Kennedy (Lolly Kennedy), and Randy Kennedy (Sally Kennedy); grandchildren, Brandon Maze, Katie Crum, Courtney Kennedy, Caylee Page, Luke Kennedy, and Kasey Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Roxie Maze, and Emmah Salazar.
A visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039, on January 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
