Doris Wray Reed, age 92, of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. She was born in Appleby, Texas on March 3, 1930 to parents Jessie Princton Wilkinson and Lillie Mae Hartt Armour.
Doris graduated High School in Nacogdoches, Texas. She worked in Real Estate and owned a jewelry store in Houston, Texas. Doris was a member of Lindale Baptist Church, and enjoyed painting, dancing, playing cards, watching the Astros baseball games and talking politics. She was strong and independent. One of a kind.
She is survived by her children John Craig Reed (Joan), James Chris Reed (Brenda), Jeana Reed Bellinger (Eric), Janet Reed Chalmers (Scott); grandchildren, Julie, Missy, Jimmy, Clifton, Jeffrey, Ginny, John, Julianne, Amanda, Brandon, Jessie, and Zach; 21 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as Pallbearers: Jimmy Reed, Clayton Ogrodowicz, Jeffery Reed, John Reed, Zach Bellinger, and Orion Raschke.
A visitation for Doris will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris' memory may be made to Traditions Hospice in Tomball or Synergy Home Healthcare.
